Hong Liu, MSW

Data Analyst

Butte County, CA

Yuankang (Hong) Liu is a Cantonese-American immigrant born in Guangzhou, China, and immigrated to Santa Cruz, California in 2005 at the age of nine. 


Hong holds a Master’s degree in Social Work and works as a Data Analyst at the Redwood Institute of Social Research (RISR). Additionally, they serve as a Crisis Stabilization Program Clinician at Telecare. With a unique blend of clinical and analytical expertise, Hong bridges the gap between mental health practice and research, ensuring evidence-based approaches are at the forefront of care and program development. 


Hong’s professional interests center on the application of theoretical and applied statistics in mental health research and therapeutic interventions. They are particularly passionate about using data-driven insights to enhance mental health services and improve outcomes for individuals in crisis. 


Throughout their career, Hong has demonstrated a commitment to advancing mental health care, both through direct clinical work and by contributing to a deeper understanding of complex mental health challenges through research and analysis.
